An Egyptian actor, writer, director and radio presenter, born in 1910 in Sharqia Governorate. He travelled to England to study engineering. He also studied aviation sciences, after which he returned to Egypt in 1931. He served as director of the Arab Section of Egyptian Radio. He participated in preparing and presenting numerous radio programs. He later focused on the full-time construction and management of Studio Masr. After problems caused by the script of the film Lasheen (1938), Ahmed Salem resigned from the studio and founded a new production company called "Nefertiti", through which he co-wrote, produced and directed several films, including: Son of Antr (1947), The Unknown Past (1946) and Desert Wings (1939).
